Ratrace Motorsport was founded in 1990, initially operating from premises in Hendon. Three years later, the company was awarded a contract as official motorsport and service agents for Caterham Cars and soon afterwards moved to larger premises at Staples Corner.

For a few years, Ratrace were official agents for Ginetta and their agency for Caterham continued until Caterham Cars, themselves, changed hands at the end of 2004.

After a decade of supplying, building, modifying and maintaining road and race cars, both in the UK and at European venues, (mostly Caterhams but also quite a few single seaters including F600`s, F3`s Formula Fords, Formula First and Monopostos) Ratrace Motorsport merged with the equally well known Protune Racing which enabled full advantage to be taken of Protune`s engine building expertise and many other skills. Together they moved to the still larger premesis in Barnet and now they occupy a unit in Potters Bar.
